SINGAPORE: Points with the brand new SingPass Cell app have been traced to a software program error, stated the Authorities Expertise Company of Singapore (GovTech) on Tuesday (Oct 23).

A number of customers had reported that they acquired a “121” error code once they tried to log into the app, hours after it was launched on Monday.

The app permits Singaporeans to log into authorities e-services on their telephones with simply their fingerprints, faces or a six-digit passcode, eradicating the necessity for passwords.

GovTech stated the app may even make it simpler for Singaporeans residing and dealing abroad to entry authorities providers with no digital token.

The app won’t change current strategies of two-factor authentication for SingPass customers. SMS One-Time Passwords and OneKey tokens will proceed to be provided as choices for customers.
